I haven't written in a while and I don't really know what I want to say, but I'm just going to start typing. I've been thinking a lot lately about how people define themselves. 'Define' may not be the best word choice, I'm referring to who a person strives to be and how individuals better themselves. I am, in certain ways, a typical girl; however, I do strive for independence and self-sufficiency harder than most. I like to rebel against the popular culture; however, I am not daring enough to be an extremist. I want to 'define' myself as the girl who is a true go-getter. She sets her mind to something and accomplishes it. She walks to the beat of a slightly different drum, but her energy and love for life inspires you to better yourself! I am a people lover and I love to help others, but I struggle with patience so the person I truly want to be gets suppressed at times. This is where bettering yourself and the definition of a person come together. You are who you want to be. Sometimes you must uncover that person by learning, growing in a relationship with Christ, and listening to those who are wiser than you. By doing the things listed I have become much more calm, relaxed, and happy. I can envision myself truly being who I've always wanted to be. Yes, it will continue to take hard work, but anything worth having does not come easy. I know that phrase is trite and cliche; however, it is very true. Somethings come easy to some individuals, while others are difficult. What you want most is usually the most difficult to achieve. If it was not this way, why would your desire be worth having. Next time you find yourself frustrated due to something difficult, stop and think, if this is my desire and this brings me closer to how I define myself, then it is worth it! Anything you have to work for will bring you more joy than something that was easy for you.
Change is Revolutionary.
